Birthday Card

This week the challenge for StampTV MIUM is a birthday card. I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

This was very timely as I needed a birthday card to send to my friend. Since I would be mailing it I kept it to a one layer card without bulky embellishments.

I decided to make a peek-a-boo card. I punched the three circles from a white card base. After I folded it, I stamped the cupcakes and the cute little heart sprinkles. On the front I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then sponged over the sentiment which resisted the ink and shows up as white. I opened up the card and sponged around the cupcakes. Then I added some Stickles and applied Wink of Stella on the cupcake icing.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Square Pegs and Massive Messages stamp sets

                             White cardstock
VersaMark ink
Recollections clear detail embossing powder

Golden Rod Stickles
ek tools 1 1/2 inch round punch

My Friend card

Today I have a card made for the StampTV MIUM challenge - 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 - Vroom... We had to have some sort of transportation on our card. The only transportation stamp I had was a bicycle, so I used that.

I decided to watercolour an ombre effect for the background, using watercolour paper. Then I stamped the bicycle and the two cats. They fit perfectly on the two seats!

I cut out a banner, heat embossed the sentiment and attached a button and a bow made from some twine with a Glue Dot.

I layered the background with a black mat and attached it to a white card base.

Materials used:
Gina K. Designs: Better With You stamp set
Bubblegum Pink, Dusty Rose and Passionate Pink ink
Hilroy watercolour paper
Kuretake water brush
VersaFine Onyx Black ink
VersaMark ink
Recollections Snow detail embossing powder
Glue Dot
Button, twine, black and white cardstock from my stash

Adhesive Free

I made this card for two challenges: StampTV MIUM Third Time's the Charm (same image stamped three times) and StampTV Kit Addicts Group challenge Adhesive Free (no adhesive to be used).

I started by stamping the three flowers, added the leaves and the sentiment. I heat embossed the sentiment to make it pop. I picked out the background patterned paper and on the advice of my husband I sponged around the focal image to make it transition to the background paper. Then I attached the focal image to the background paper with some small brads and attached this to the card base using some floss tied into bows.

Materials used:
Gina K. Designs: Made With Love and Better With You stamp sets
Made With Love patterned paper pack
Red Velvet, Grass Green and Blue Lagoon ink
VersaFine Onyx Black ink

Spinner card

This week I made a card for the StampTV MIUM challenge - Spinner Card. I am also entering it in the Mod Squad Blog challenge - Anything but Christmas, the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge - Start Afresh and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - New Something.

I haven't made a spinner card before and I haven't used the 'birthday wishes' stamp before so I have 2 new things.

I started with a white card base and punched the opening for my butterfly to spin. I stamped the flower and leaves and coloured the flower with alcohol markers. I stamped the butterfly on a scrap piece of cardstock, cut it out and coloured it.

I sponged the top of the card and stamped the sentiment. Using two pennies and a foam circle, I attached the butterfly so it would spin. I attached a piece of cardstock with some foam tape to cover the back, so you can't see the spinning mechanism.

I enjoyed making this spinner card and will probably make more in the future.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Birthday Blessings, Massive Messages stamp sets
                             Coordinating butterfly die
                             Grass Green, Lipstick ink

Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers: OR1, OR2, OR3, GB7, CR10, DR2, DR6, CG4
