Spotlight card

This card was made for the StampTV MIUM Spotlighting challenge. In this technique, only a part of the image is coloured. I am also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.

I started with a piece of white cardstock and stamped the butterflies and flowers to make a background. I cut a circle from a piece of paper and using that as a mask, coloured the images inside the circle. I sponged lightly inside the circle with some blue ink.

I die cut the oval with the slits, stamped the sentiment and sponged around the edges. I threaded the ribbon through and attached it to the background after it was matted with blue cardstock. I then attached it to a white card base.

I used the following supplies:

Gina K. Designs: Sending Love stamp set
                         3/8" Black Onyx ribbon
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Spectrum Noir: Ultra Smooth Premium White card stock
                      Alcohol markers: BP2, BP4, BP7, LG3, LG5, CT3, GB7
Stampin' Up! Bashful Blue ink
Provo Craft die
VersaFine Onyx Black ink

Noel

Merry Christmas! This card is for the StampTV MIUM challenge - Stamps of Christmas Past. We were to use a holiday stamp set from a previous year.

For this card, I decided to use the inlay die technique. I cut NOEL from some gold paper and also from some white cardstock after I coloured it with some alcohol markers. I stamped the sentment with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it.

I covered the back of the white cardstock with some Sookwang tape and fit the gold letters in the spaces. I ran it through my die cutting machine to make sure the letters were firmly attached, removed the backing from the tape and taped it to the card base. I added some of the other pieces from the die for some decoration.

I used the following supplies:

Gina K. Designs Sentimental Holiday stamp setStaples gold paper
Cottage Cutz Woodland Noel die
Spectrum Noir: Ultra Smooth Premium White card stock
                            Alcohol markers : TB4, TB5, TB7

Christmas Tag

This week the StampTV MIUM Tag It challenge was perfect as I still needed a few tags for my Christmas presents.

I created a CAS tag that was quick to make! I stamped and embossed the star, added the sentiment, punched the end of the tag and sponged around the edges. I cut a mat, punched the end, adhered it to the tag and added some baker's twine. I left room to add the To and From under the sentiment.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Sentimental Holiday stamp set
VersaMark ink
Recollections Gold tinsel embossing powder
VersaFine Onyx Black ink
ColorBox Cranberry ink
Stampin' Up! Tag Topper punch
Red, white cardstock, gold bakers twine from my stash

Shaker Christmas card

This week, I made a card for four challenges: StampTV MIUM Color Challenge, StampTV Release Party Challenge - Add a BowMod Squad Challenge - Trees and Snow, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Ice Inspiration.

I decided to do a shaker card and have the glitter and flocking powder be the snow shaking around the trees. For the color challenge, I didn't have all the ink colors so I used the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers that closely match.

I drew the stripes on the front of the card base and cut out a circle from the middle. I stamped the trees, cut them out, added Stickles to the stars and glued some flocking powder to the trees and under the trees. I cut the frame out of cardstock and a foam sheet, colored the cardstock frame and glued a piece of acetate to the back. I glued the foam sheet frame to the acetate and let it dry.

I adhered the tree image to a piece of cardstock the same size as the front of the card and attached this making sure that the trees were lined up with the opening. I added some glitter to the middle of the trees and glued on the frame, making sure not to move the glitter until the glue from the frame was dry.

I stamped the sentiment, cut it out, ran a marker around the edge and attached it to the bottom of the frame. I made a triple loop bow and added it to the top of the frame with a mini Glue Dot.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Sentimental Holiday and Square Pegs stamp sets
                             Fresh Asparagus ink
Spectrum Noir: Ultra Smooth Premium White card stock
                          Alcohol Markers DR2, BT7
VersaFine Onyx Black ink

Sparkly Tent Topper card

Today I made a card for three challenges: StampTV MIUM It's Your Time to Shine, StampTV Kit Addicts Group - Tent Topper and  Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.

I decided to use the Snow Frame set so I could make the snowflakes sparkle. I stamped the background with the snowflakes using VersaMark ink and heat embossed them with a sparkle embossing powder. I stamped the frame that comes with the set, embossed it and cut it out. I stamped the sentiment, clear embossed it and cut it out so it would fit in the center of the frame. I cut a larger mat for the frame and used a silver metallic pen to colour the outside rim. It doesn't really show up in the picture.

Once I layered the sentiment portion, I positioned it on the base so that it was no larger than 5 1/2 inches tall. I added a few dots of silver Stickles to finish it off.

Here are the supplies I used:

Gina K. Designs: Snow Frame, Birthday Blessings stamp sets
                          In the Navy ink
VersaMark ink
Recollections Glitz sparkle embossing powder, Clear detail embossing powder
Sakura Silver Metallic ink pen
