Patterned Paper card

I made this card for the StampTV Kit Addicts challenge - Use Patterned Paper and have a Sentiment as your Focal Image.

I used the foilable image sheets that came with the Made With Love StampTV kit and foiled the Happy Birthday and the frame with gold. I rounded the corners of the frame, cut out the Happy Birthday with the Creative Memories circle cutting system, and centered the sentiment inside the frame. I cut two pieces of patterned paper, layered them onto some Sweet Mango cardstock and popped up the frame with foam squares. I adhered the whole layer onto a white cardbase.

Materials used:
Gina K. Designs: Made With Love StampTV kit - patterned paper, foilable image sheets and                                            Sweet Mango and White cardstock.
Lisa Pavelka foiling sheets
Creative Memories circle cutting system
foam squares

Gingham Card

This week for the StampTV MIUM Challenge we were to use Gingham on the card. I decided to use some gingham patterned paper and ribbon. I'm also entering it in the Mod Squad Challenge - Springtime.

I stamped the image and sentiment and coloured the image with Spectrum Noir markers. I sponged the edges and matted it with a piece of black gingham that I turned on the diagonal. I adhered this to a piece of Applemint cardstock and the whole thing was put on a white cardbase. I added a red gingham bow.

I used the following products:
Gina K. Designs: Better With You stamp set
                             Applemint ink
                             Applemint and White cardstock
                             Cold Snap patterned paper set
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Spectrum Noir alcohol markers: DR3, LG4, TN3, TN5, TN7, TB3, TB5, GB1

Happy card

Today I have a card that I made for the Mod Squad Challenge - The Rainbow Connection. This one is fairly obvious - we had to have the colours of the rainbow on our card.

I raided my scrap folder and punched each colour with a border punch. I adhered them onto a white piece of cardstock. I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink and embossed with a siver embossing powder. It seemed like a good sentiment to use because rainbow colours always make me happy!

I attached a piece of ribbon, matted with black and attached it to a white card base. A quick and easy card.

Here are the supplies I used:

Gina K. Designs Massive Messages stamp set
                            Black Onyx 5/8" ribbon
                            White and Black cardstock
VersaMark ink
Martha Stewart Sterling embossing powder
Recollections border punch

Purple Flower

I made a card this week for the StampTV MIUM Spring Combo challenge. We have to use a die for embossing and have a flower as our focal image. Here's what I came up with.

I found it hard to get a good picture. This looks a little more blue than my card.

I used a flourish die and embossed the four corners of my card front. I sponged over them to bring out the embossing.

I stamped the flower and coloured it with Spectrum Noir markers. I die cut it and then cut out a mat. I used one of the markers to colour the edge of the mat so that it would match. I also coloured a piece of ribbon and the mat for the card front.

I stamped the sentiment, attached the ribbon and popped up the flower with foam squares. I adhered everything to a white card base.

I used these products:

Gina K. Designs Especially For You stamp set
White layering weight and base weight cardstock
Spellbinders Shapeabilities Die D-Lites Corner Flourish die
Stampabilities Violet dye ink

Green One Layer Card

This week, the StampTV MIUM challenge is to make a one layer card, the Mod Squad challenge is to have only the colour green plus neutrals on our card, the Simon Says Wednesday challenge is to have some green on our project and the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge is to make our own background. Here is the card that I made.

Since this is a one layer card it came together fairly quickly. I stamped the sentiment and cut out an oval to use as a mask. With the mask in place I randomly stamped the background image all over the card front with VersaMark ink. I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I sponged two different colours of green over the background to reveal the pattern.

I used the following products:

Gina K. Designs White heavy base weight cardstock
                            Better With You stamp set
                            AppleMint ink
VersaMark ink
Recollections Clear embossing powder
Tim Holtz Mowed Lawn Distress ink

Spring Colours

This week I made a card for a few challenges: StampTV MIUM Spring FeverMod Squad Blog Feature a Creature and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Take a Leap into the Unknown.

For the Simon Says Stamp challenge, we were asked to try a new technique. I have recently made my own alcohol inks so I thought I would give them a try. I added different colours of ink onto a piece of photo paper and then used a straw to blow the ink around. It gave some interesting colours where the inks blended together.

I stamped the image and sentiment onto some white cardstock and cut out the oval shape. I die cut the oval mat and layered the two together. I matted the background layer with black cardstock and adhered everything together. I added a few rhinestones to capture some of the colours in the background.

I used the following supplies:

Gina K. Designs: Cardstock - Black Onyx and White
Stamp set - Better With You
Creative Memories Oval Cutting System
Spellbinders Nestibilities Big Scalloped Ovals Large
VersaFine Smokey Gray ink
HP Photo Paper
Homemade Alcohol inks - Turquoise, Banana, Pink and Boysenberry
Rhinestones from my stash
