Red and Gold Card

The challenge this week on StampTV was to make a card using mostly red and gold. When I think of red and gold I think Christmas, so here is my Christmas card.

I started with a piece of red cardstock, stamped the Fabulous Frame with Versamark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder. I coloured in the border of the frame with a metallic gold pen. Then I stamped one of the borders from Fabulous Holiday Fillers in gold ink and filled in some of the circles.  I stamped the tree on a piece of white paper, cut it out and ran it through my Xyron.  I stuck it onto the middle of the oval, stamped and embossed "happy holidays" underneath and adhered it to a white card base.

Supplies used:
Gina K Designs stamp sets: Fabulous Frame, Fabulous Holiday Fillers, and Square Pegs
Ink: Versamark, Brilliance - Galaxy Gold
Embossing powder - Recollections Tinsel Gold
Pen : Sakura Pen-touch Calligrapher Gold
Xyron sticker maker

Stitched Fall Card

Today I have a card that I made for 4 challenges: StampTV - You Have Me In Stitches, Mod Squad Challenge Blog - Get your FALL onSimon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Autumn is in the Air and Simon Says Stamp World Card Making Day.

I was inspired by Gina's video and the way she made her background. I used a piece of photo paper for my background, coloured it with alcohol markers and spritzed it well with rubbing alcohol. Once it was dry, I stamped it with Perfect Medium sprinkled PearlEx over it and die cut it.

I stamped the sentiment, embossed it, cut a banner around it and stitched it to a piece of satin ribbon. I sponged the edges of the banner, wrapped the ribbon around the background and attached it to an ivory card base with foam tape.

I used the following products:

Gina K Designs stamp set: Birthday Blessings
Ink: Perfect Medium, Versamark and Stampin' Up! Cajun Craze
Embossing Powder: Martha Stewart Copper Penny
PearlEx: Sparkling Copper
Spectrum Noir alcohol markers: OR1, GB7, TN5 and TN7
Die: Simon Says Stamp Postage Stamp Edge Frame
Ribbon: Celebrate It Harvest
From my stash: foam tape, rubbing alcohol, photo paper, cardstock

Another Fall Card

I liked the last card I made so much that I decided to make another one, with slight changes. I am entering this in the Scrapbook and Cards Today World Card Making Day Colour Suite Challenge and in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Autumn is in the Air.

I decided to use the Colour Suite from June, 2012 which can be found Here

I started with a piece of ivory cardstock and sponged on ink in a random pattern to create the background. I stamped the leaf image all over the background with Versamark ink, used clear embossing powder and heat set it. I then sponged over the entire background and wiped the ink off the leaf images. I matted the background and added a piece of ribbon across the lower half.

I cut an oval from the ivory cardstock, stamped the sentiment, sponged the edges and matted it. I popped it up with foam squares onto the middle of the ribbon. I adhered the entire thing onto an ivory card base.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K Designs stamp sets: Square Pegs, Birthday Blessings
Stampin'Up! ink: Really Rust, Ruby Red, Only Orange, More Mustard, Old Olive and Cajun Craze
Stampin' Up! cardstock: Old Olive
Versamark ink
Recollections clear embossing powder
Creative Memories Cutting System - Ovals
Foam squares
Ribbon and ivory cardstock from my stash
